I bought this product so that it would sit in the seat as I needed it to push me forward. It arrived with a piece missing but they got the part shipped out. I love the fact that I am closer to the handlebars or I can use it to support my back. It is a great backrest and the company made up for the missing part.

Backrest for 2020 Spyder RTL
The only reason I didn’t give this item a 5 was because of the video. The video did not tell the true story of how to install this backrest. It is harder than it looks. The bike mount does not go in as easily as it is shown on the video if you noticed on the video it has been edited to cut out some procedures that you have to do to get the mount to slide in that easily. I followed the video step by step and could not get that mount to go in. I tried pushing down on the tube and tried to force it in while trying to raise the front of the seat tray. I finally figured it out. The driver seat was in the way and I couldn’t get my big hands up under the seat tray far enough to lift it enough for the clearance the mount needed. So I had to do a few steps and take the driver seat off and when I tried it again the mount went right in place without any force.

I'm happy with my purchase because I caught it on sale. The instructional videos slingmods put out make the install a much less intimidating task

Backrest for Spyder RT 2020+
With 1,000 miles on it and only being a few weeks old, I was a bit leary dismantling my brand new Spyder. Between the enclosed instructions AND SlingMod's online video, I went for it. It took longer than the expected install time, as I dropped the large flat washer screw into "never-never" land and had to make a trip to the hardware store. (It bounced out the next day). I suggest that you have an extra set of hands, as it takes two hands to lift up the seat tray, while another helps to jamb and jiggle the mount down into place. Another suggestion is to increase the length of the M8 X 16MM BOLT. I had to hold the mount in place while trying to get the screw started, and it's just a tad too short.
Once the mount was in place, everything else was a snap to install. With the fold down option, my wife can easily get into her seat, and it gives her another place to hold instead of the side arm handles.
