The front fender luggage bags look great. Followed the instructions and everything went together perfectly

Great after a little engineering
The back bolt is too short for the installation and the back hole does not align. I have a 2016 SL and I had to rework the mount hole and buy longer bolts and washers.

As supplied it was impossible to align the supplied bolt and get it to connect. I re-engineered the hole by enlarging and adding a much larger washer with a correct length bolt.

I also did not use the bolt to connect the triangle, I replaced the double sided tape and bought new rivets with large heads.

Three nights rather then 1 evening install.

I like how they look.

Slingshot Front Fender Touring Luggage Bags
They came in on time, and were easy to install. Overall, a little smaller than we expected, but a great addition to the storage.

Look great, but leak.
The install took about 2 hours and was fairly easy. Day after install I ran into some summer rain showers that lasted about 15 minutes on my way home from work. I inspected the compartments after I got home and there was considerable water in them. I sealed all cracks and joints inside each compartment with clear silicone sealant and let dry. A couple of days later I had the same situation with summer afternoon showers and re-examined the compartment when I got home. There was a small amount of water in them and I determined this came from around the doors. I have finally resolved to just keep anything I want to keep dry in them by using dry bags and live with the water. Seems like for what they cost they would have been sealed better. Oh and the inside metal latch isn’t stainless and is rusting after only a couple months, have to oil them.

Some easy modifications will help
1. Allow for the moving of the lock from the rear seat compartment to fit these so the ignition key fits,
2. Needs to have a catch mechanism to keep the door from swinging completely backwards, if installing airride, this will allow the door to hit the ground causing damage, a simple retractable cord would be great
3. A liner kit would be a great accessory, keeps helmets from being scratched and bouncing around while traveling.

When mine arrived, there were plastic shavings that had glued themselves to the backside of the storage bucket. You can not see them once installed, however a little care during manufacture goes a long way. that was my only real complaint. Product will do the job!
